Ready to Work in Australia in Aged Care?

If you would love to live and work in Australia, now is the time to turn your dreams into reality.

To boost the country’s aged care workforce, the Australian government is streamlining visa nominations and prioritising visa application processing for people who want to work in the sector.

Under the new labour agreement for aged care workers, the government will also provide a two-year pathway to permanent residency through the Employer Nomination Scheme.

Key Visa Application Requirements

The great news is that to obtain this visa, there is no need to have post qualification work experience. You simply need to hold a relevant AQF Certificate III or equivalent, or have a higher qualification, or have the equivalent of 12 months of relevant work experience.

You will also need to obtain a positive skills assessment from the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council, or from the Australian Community Workers Association if you obtained your qualifications overseas. This also applies if you claim work experience in lieu of formal qualifications.

You must have an English language proficiency level of at least IELTS 5.0 or equivalent.

If you have language skills required by culturally and linguistically diverse aged care providers, you will need at least IELTS 4.5 or equivalent.
